Sr. Umilta' Marsili Counselors: Sr. Giulia Sr. Luisa Sr. Eleonora Sr. Gesualda Regional Superior: Sr. Teresina Congregation of Little Daughters of St. John Gualbert (Picole Figlie di San Giovanni Gualberto) was started on July 9, 1975 in Pescia, Italy by Abbot Joseph Zambernardi, a Vallombrosan Benedictine monk and Mother Immaculate Kossuth. Little daughters of St. John Gualbert follow the Rule of St. Benedict and the charism of St. John Gualbert's "Forgiving Love". Their motto is "Ora et Labora" (Prayer and Work). Their main charism is to impart care and concern to the elderly persons, assist the bishops and priests in their apostolic mission in the Church, health care for the poor and social work. In the Archeparchy of Kottayam the Congregation started a formation house on September 8, 1981 at Memury in Kottayam district and after a few years, "Little Daughters of St. John Gualbert Convent" at Kothanalloor which later became the Regional House. At present they have a convent (Arogyamatha Convent) and hostel for students at Kadaba, Karnataka, a convent (Assumption Convent) at Arayangad, Kannur and a Home for the Aged (Gualbert Bhavan) at Caritas, Thellakom. They do their service also at Thuvanisa Retreat Centre, Kothanalloor and at St. Joseph's Old Age Home, Kaduthuruthy. They have formation houses at Memury, Kothanalloor and Arayangad. They are 80 sisters from this Archeparchy, of whom 30 are working in the Eparchy and the rest, in Italy. They have 4 novices and 3 aspirants. Details of Communities in the Archeparchy
